Did you know that it is estimated that over 80% of Toyota cars sold 20 years ago are still in the road today.

Bear this in mind before you think of selling your Toyota to trusted car buyers. You may be able to get a better deal for your Supra, Corolla or RAV4 than you expect.

At Interesting Car Facts, not only do we shovel you a random but rousing car-related fact, but we dig deeper too.

So, it’s time to take a look at some of Toyota’s classic cars that have been going strong on our roads worldwide for over two decades!

Toyota’s twenty years

In the last twenty years, the Japanese motor giant has seen its revenue and production output grow and grow. Toyota was the largest car manufacturer in 2012 (by production).

In July, 2012, Toyota reported its production levels had reached the 200-million mark. Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s take a look at through some of the classics from the 1990s that helped define Toyota as the market leader it is today.

Toyota Camry

The Camry is America’s best-selling car, but it is far from thrilling. So, we suggest you take a look at how Parker Kligerman is turning a Toyota Camry into a rally car instead.

Toyota Corolla

The 2014 Toyota Corolla may get a low score on America’s toughest crash safety tests, but back in the 1990s and 2000s this car was ruling the streets – particularly for family car owners.

Hilux

The Hilux has long been a mammoth of a machine. You just have to take a look at Top Gear, to see just how indestructible it is.

A new round of crash testing has also seen the Toyota Hilux achieve an inevitable 5-Star Crash Safety Rating.

MR2

The MR2 is a classic two-seater, mid-engined rear-wheeled sports car. Production started in 1984 and stopped in July 2007. If you still drive one of these, our hat goes off to you!

Here’s an example of a classic 1993 Toyota MR2 from Flickr, and a few more below thrown in for good measure (not like it’s my favourite or anything!).
