New Aston Martin Vantage Unveiled

Aston Martin Vantage Aston Martin Vantage

The brand new Aston Martin Vantage revealed with a 4 litre V8 Twin-turbocharged Engine, which produces 503bhp and prices start at £120K.

Aston Martin has released their all-new Vantage. The new rival of the Porsche 911 we will get into what its capable of shortly. The Aston Martin Vantage is following on from the DB11, and this is also the second of seven core new models that will arrive from Aston before 2023. The latest Vantage is more powerful, faster and much lighter than the previous model it replaces. In no surprise, the new Aston is also more expensive. Customers can also place their orders now but will have to reach out £120,900. This price represents a premium of around £25,000 over the latest Vantage and its rival Porsche 911 GTS. For your money, you do get a completely new car. Although, the latest Vantage shares virtually nothing with its predecessor yet makes use of Aston’s new aluminium architecture.

This already underpins the DB11. However, Aston says that 70% of the structure’s components are fresh and unique from the Vantage. The new weight tips the scales at 1,530kg which is almost identical to its rival Porsche 911.

The 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 from the DB11 is also a new feature. This delivers 503bhp which paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Aston also claims the car can do 0-20mph in a time of 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 195mph. Additionally, with perfect 50:50 weight distribution which has been achieved by placing the engine as far back in the chassis. The Economy statistics are claimed as 26.8mpg and emits 245g/km of CO2.

Aston Martin Vantage Design and Styling

This time Aston have paid particular attention to the Vantages aerodynamic performance. The front splitter works in together with a new rear diffuser which helps direct the airflow underneath the car and increase downforce. Side gills have been added just behind the front wheels to help cut pressure in the wheel arches at high speeds. An additional prominent boot lip increases the downforce. Aston has included some new technology which includes the electronic rear differential which is a first. Whereas, adaptive dampers and the torque vectoring system and bespoke new tyres (Pirelli P Zero’s) come as standard on all models. Heated leather seats with additional ventilation, 20-inch alloys and Aston’s Premium sound system feature too.

Visually the new Aston Martin Vantage is a big difference from today’s Vantage model. The styling of the Vantage has been influenced by the DB10 that was featured in the 2015 James Bond film. These features include the clamshell bonnet, the gaping grille and slim LED headlamps are clear similarities to the DB10. The Vantage boss also states the promise that all of the future models will have their own identity and won’t be featuring a Russian doll-like styling. In the close future, convertibles and more focused performance versions of the new Aston Martin Vantage will also be launched. The first deliveries are expected around the middle of the next year, 2018.
